Industrial Visits to Dainik Jagran
The Industrial Visit to Dainik Jagran Newspaper presents an exciting opportunity for students of the Media Studies Department (BAJMC, Multimedia) to gain invaluable insights into the world of journalism and multimedia production. Exploring the newsroom of one of India's leading newspapers, students will witness firsthand the fast-paced environment where news is gathered, curated, and disseminated to millions of readers. Engaging with seasoned journalists and multimedia professionals, participants will learn about the editorial process, content creation strategies, and the integration of multimedia elements in storytelling. This immersive experience aims to inspire and educate students, providing them with practical knowledge and industry exposure essential for their future careers in media and communication.
Industrial Visits to Dainik Bhaskar
Students of Media Studies department, CT Institute of Management & IT were taken for an industrial visit at a newspaper printing press unit of Dainik Bhaskar 15th February 2024 There were 50 students accompanied by two faculty members Ms. Harpreet Kaur and Ms. Priyanka. During the visit, students learnt various aspects of the newspaper printing process like how to print a daily newspaper, what is print aluminum plate and how to color-balance CMYK during the printing process.It was a fruitful visit which gave students an exposure to the industry of printing. Our Institute especially thanks to Dainik Bhaskar Printing Press. Thanks to Mr. Uday who gave permission for the visit and explained to us all the departments during the visit.
Industrial Visits to Film City (Mohali)
An Industrial visit at ‘Film city (Mohali) organized by the Department of Media Studies as a part of their curriculum. The industrial visit was intended for Journalism & Multimedia students. At first, students were taken to the Film city Mohali, where students saw the entire studios’ setup (Indian, Western, folk, etc.).The manager of the film city briefed the journey of the studio as to how the filming of a lot of movies and songs has been done there.
Industrial Visits to 94.3 My FM
An Industrial visit at 94.3 My FM Jalandhar organized by the Department of Media Studies as a part of their curriculum. The industrial visit was intended for Journalism & mass communication students. Firstly, students were interacted by RJ Garry. He told them about his work experience in My FM. Students also visited the Recording studio where RJ Garry recorded his link in front of students. He showed many equipment (console, mikes etc) in studios and told them how it works during programs. At the end students asked many questions about hosting programs, script and live recordings. Rj Garry cleared all the doubts of the students.
A Session on Metaverse
CT Group of institutions, North campus organized a session on "METAVERSE", the future of India, and it was organized by the department of media studies for the students of multimedia animation and journalism. The special guests of the day were the Team of MAAC, Ms. Riya Arora, (Director of MAAC Ludhiana and Jalandhar), Mr. Amit Dua, (Vice President of MAAC and Aptech Ltd.), Mr. Munish Jain, (Technical Head, MAAC, Jalandhar), Ms. Kanchan Saini (Centre Manager, MAAC, Jalandhar), Ms. Kanchan gave the introductory speech and briefed about the Company and how it works and then, Mr. Munish, guided the students about the technicality and the usage of the metaverse and solved the technical queries of the students, then, Mr. Amit Dua explained how the Metaverse is the future of India and how knowing about this thing is going to help them in future for their job and told the students about the importance of Metaverse, and then, in the end, Ms. Riya concluded the event by counseling and motivating the students about their career.
Workshop on Entrepreneurship Skills, Attitude, and Behavior Development
A workshop on Entrepreneurship Skills, Attitude, and Behavior Development was conducted by Ms. Khyati Kohli Founder and Managing Director of Punjab’s Fastest Growing News channel Truescoop. She is also an Author of the Book “ The shame on You” and Co-Founder of ‘Aaghaaz-A- Beginning’. Her topic for the workshop was Entrepreneurship Skills, Attitude, and Behaviour Development. She talked about her journey from studying Abroad to building a career as an entrepreneur in a small city like Jalandhar. She motivated students to choose the best career path.
Industiral Visit
Industrial Visit To Hanni Industries
After a long time in the month March 2021 an offline Industrial Visit was organized for the students for the Department of Business Management. The students of MBA were taken to Amritsar at Hanni Industries. The industry dealt in various export quality products. They manufacture many Indian spices, Jaggery and its related products. They also deal in Kesar exports. The countries in which they export their products are Canada, New Zealand, England and many others. Their 95% business is based on exports. The owner of the industry said that he got inspired from his mother’s illness and started manufacturing pure products. He worked as one-man army at the earliest stages of business and then over the years has transformed it into a full-fledged industry. The students have learned a lot in this visit and have given positive feedback and appreciated our prestigious institute for arranging such visits.
Industiral Visit To Oceana Tech
With the aim to provide an exposure to students about practical working environments and give full awareness about the Industrial practices, an exposure visit was arranged by the Department of Business Management at “Oceana Tech" in the month of October 2020. The respected executives of the industry enlightened the students about the history of the industry as of when it was founded and all the ups and downs faced by the company owner to reach the level of success he is at now. Such visits enrich the students with practical knowledge of industrial procedures and widen their knowledge of managing industries.
Industiral Visit To Decathlon
An industrial trip to Decathlon (Ludhiana) was organized for the students of MBA on 3rd October 2019 by the Department of Business Management. The students explored and had access to the equipment and sports facilities as provided by the officials of the store. All in all it was a great visit. The students enjoyed and expect such kinds of industrial visits to be organized in future.
Events
Open Mic
Media department CT group of institution North campus Organized an open mic event for all the students, where the students shared their views in form Poetry, Songs, Rapping Standup comedy among others. The purpose of this activity was to help students develop their communication skills as good orator skills are an Indispensable Requirement for a good career. The open mic events were important to Nurture Future Thinkers.
Celebrated International Language Day
An event ‘Rephrasing’ on International Language Day organized by the Department of Media Studies. The event was intended for all the students of the media studies Department. The event was hosted by Ms. Deeksha (Assistant Professor). In the starting of the event she made five teams of the students and asked Idioms to Rephrase in their mother tongue. Teams were to get the score for their right answers./p>
Radio Day
The Department of Media Studies, CTIMIT, organised a guest lecture on World Radio Day celebrated on 13th February. Radio Jockey (RJ) Vikrant from 91.9 Radio city was the guest speaker, who gave important tips for a successful career in radio journalism. And said it is a low-cost medium, specifically suited to reaching remote communities and vulnerable people. It offers a platform to intervene in the public debate for over a century now and irrespective of people’s educational level, it continues to play a crucial role in emergency communication and disaster relief. About 70 students from the Media Studies department disciplines attended the event. RJ Vella Vikrant said radio stations are serving diverse communities, offering a wide variety of programmes, viewpoints and content, and reflecting the diversity of audiences in their organisations and operations. At the end RJ cleared all the doubts of the students.
Photography Day
Media department CT group of institution North campus Organized Take a Shot a Mobile Photography competition on the occasion of World Photography Day for all the students of the media studies department. It is aptly said, ‘A picture is worth a thousand words.’ Every student clicked five photos on given topics. And students captured the photographs in the campus only. More than 30 students participated in this competition. Students showed their talent and captured the images on their topics. Students were overjoyed with the event.
Journalism Day
Department of Media Studies CT Group of institutions, North campus inaugurated their Web News channel named CT North Campus News on the occasion of Journalism Day. The channel will be operated by the students and first news bulletin and entertaining survey programs were also shootfor news channels. The purpose of this news channel was to help students develop their skills are an indispensable requirement for a good career.
