Introduction

MCA (Master of Computer Application) is a postgraduate program with a course duration of 2 years. The MCA course aims to train students in different aspects of computer programs, application software, operating systems, and more. Students seeking to excel in the domain of computer and information technology can take up this master of computer applications course.

The MCA Program commenced at CTIMIT, Jalandhar is a 2 Year full-time PG program. Apart from having good infrastructural facilities like State of Art Laboratories, a Well-Equipped Library, etc., the program is further reinforced with a team of highly qualified, dedicated, and motivated faculty members and supporting staff.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All those candidates who have Passed B.C.A / B.Sc. (Computer Science) / B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. (CSE) / B.Tech. (CSE) / B.E. (IT) / B.Tech. (IT) or equivalent Degree.
  • OR

  • Passed any graduation degree (e.g.: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. / B. Voc. / etc.,) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level

    from the University recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and also Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination shall be eligible to apply for admission to MCA Course.

    (for students having no Mathematics background compulsory bridge course will be framed by the respective University/ Institution and additional bridge courses related to computer subjects as per the norms of the concerned University)

PO1: Computational Knowledge: Apply knowledge of computing fundamentals, computing specialization, mathematics, and domain knowledge appropriate for the computing specialization to the abstraction and conceptualization of computing models from defined problems and requirements. Problem

PO2: Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and solve complex computing problem searching substantiated conclusions using fundamental principles of mathematics, computing sciences, and relevant domain disciplines.

PO3: Design /Development of Solutions: Design and evaluate solutions for complex computing problems, and design and evaluate systems, components, or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex Computing problems: User search-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, adapt and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern computing tools to complex computing activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
