Introduction
BCA is a three-year course segregated into six semesters. The syllabus covers 50% theory and 50% practical. The syllabus holds technical, non-technical, and personality development subjects, to make students technically strong, rapid problem solvers, and confident enough to represent himself/herself to the world.
By completing the 3-year degree of Bachelor of Computer Applications graduate student is confident to vie in promoting him in world technology or education. A graduate can pursue a Master's degree or Post-graduate Diploma in the same domain. A student can bring evolution in his studies in streams like Computer Applications, Master of Business Administration in Information Systems, and Business Administration in Operations. Also, various post-graduate diplomas like Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA), in Computer Commercial Applications (PGDCCA), and Business Statistics and Computer Applications (PGDBSCA) etc. are being offered by several reputed colleges.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility: All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council.
- Those candidates who have passed their Matriculation examination AND have also passed three-year Diploma in any Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or such Examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education, or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal.
OR
BCA (Lateral Entry): It is a Under Graduate (UG) Programme of 2 years duration (4 semesters)
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility: All those candidates who have passed Matriculation examination AND have also passed 3 Year Diploma in any Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or such Examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education, or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal
- 10+2 with 1 year Diploma in Computer Application / IT (or equivalent) from a recognized University with Mathematics as course at 10+2 or DIT / DCA level.

PSO1: To use principles of Computer Science (such as software engineering, computer networks, data structures & computer programming high level languages) for developing software solutions.
PSO2: To clearly understand the concept of programming languages, computer architecture and their applications in different field of technologies to develop cost- effective solutions in the area of computer science by the use of various methodological algorithms and different tool.
